Technique Tantrum!

Is there a technique or style or whatever you just cannot get the hang of?

For me it is tying bows! AGH! They just end up looking like some awful mess. I know, I have girls and bow tying should come naturally to me. Sure if it's in their hair but on a page or project I just can't seem to master it. Teneale is the queen of bow tying (and so she should be, most of her projects have bows!) and I think even she has given up on trying to teach me.

Anybody else have a similar problem?

I just popped over to You Tube & watched a video on the Crafters Companion - very cool! Especially if you're a card maker like me.

(not sure it can tie bows?)

I find that if I wrap the ribbon around something (can of hairspray?) and then tie it like shoe lace, I don't do too badly. Having said that I don't really do a lot of bows on my layouts - boys aren't fans of bows! I use bows on cards, but they're so small no one cares if they're not perfectly lovely.

I had a run in with a Circle Scissor Plus today! I can't for the life of me work out how to stick the blade in! I was supposed to be demonstrating it, but after about 20minutes of trying to work it out I was ready to throw the whole thing out the window! Does anyone have one? Can you give me a hint? Do you need to hold your tongue a special way? Say please three times fast???? :?

We worked out that the Circle Scissor we had opened was faulty, the blade was just supposed to click in and it didn't. Phew! Here we thought we were a bunch of ning nongs, not being able to get the stupid thing to stay in. I'll stick to my old version of the Circle scissor, thanks!

I hate that Circle Scissor!

We've returned all of them back to the wholesaler. I'm not going to advertise and sell something that I can't vouch for the quality on.

Give me the old Circle Scissor any day!

I'm doing a class with a lady from EK Success next week, I'm going to tell her what I think of her product in person.
